Transportation Scheduler

Responsible for 3rd party inbound schedule.

• Liaison between CS and 3rd party transporters
• Find 3rd party haulers for loads that HT/RT/TS cannot manage
• Critical role to keeping Heritage plants at capacity
• Build and maintain relationships with 3rd party transportation companies
• Manage contracts and rates with 3rd party haulers
• Special Projects as assigned
• Understand when to elevate issues
• Enter issues into Intelex
• Provide assistance and coverage for other Transportation Schedulers as needed
• Participates in Monthly Safety Training Topics
• Meet Company Safety Observation Goals
• Other duties as assigned

Skill/Education:

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
• Computer literacy (proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel)
• 40 wpm keyboarding
• Professional interpersonal skills, appearance and attitude
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced, multi-faceted working environment and change
• Ability to handle diversified assignments and assist with special projects
• Ability to be flexible
• Minimum 2 years office experience
• Trucking/scheduling experience, knowledge of DOT hazardous waste regulations are desirable

Physical/Mental Demands:  Must be able to see, hear, speak, read, write, sit, walk, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, take call out when needed and lift up to 30 lbs.

Work Environment:  The work environment is moderately noisy.

A post offer drug screen is required.
