Transportation Laborer / Yard Jockey - Indianapolis, IN

Primary Purpose

Responsible for maintaining an orderly parking lot, as well as providing assistance and support resources to the HT drivers and HT management in Indianapolis HT terminal, and other locations as required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Organizes parking lots on a continuous basis.
• Keeps in communication with drivers, plant and HT management to track when specified trailers will be in yard.
• Scales, samples, and drops loaded trailers at plant. When trailers are empty, lines trailers and drops in yard.
• Checks in with supervisor at beginning and end of shift.
• Removes placards and labels using scrapers from previous generators after dumps/containers are dumped.
• Conducts yard maintenance, picks up trash and debris, and other miscellaneous tasks as directed by HT management.

Education: High School Diploma or its equivalent required.

Experience: Previous yard jockey experience is preferred.

Requirements: Must have a valid drivers license. Ability to pass Motor Vehicle Record search to company standards.

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Ability to understand RCRA compliance standards and OSHA safety regulations. Must be able to wear PPE, including respirator. Must be willing and able to lift, push/pull, and climb during entire work shift. Must be willing and able to work in an outdoor environment. Must be able to pass Motor Vehicle Record Search. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

A post offer drug screen will be required.
