Transporation Manager - Rineco - Benton, AR

JOB SUMMARY:  Provide logistics planning and production support to rolling fleet and assist Transportation Manager with responsibilities for all trucking transportation at Rineco Transportation LLC

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide logistics planning and production support to rolling fleet.
• Investigate incidents to ensure prompt resolution and training opportunities.
• Provide training for dispatchers and office personnel.
• Log and maintain driver records to DOT and company policies.
• Supervise dispatch and office employees.
• Conduct D.O.T.  and safety training, as needed
• Fill in for dispatchers if necessary
• Assist Manager with: management of all daily functions of trucking company; rate negotiations with Rineco transportation and contract customers; supervision of all scheduling of trucks inbound and outbound; profitability and logistic analysis of loads; coordination of Rineco Emergency Services activity related to all transportation issues.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  Perform other related duties as assigned.   Regular and punctual attendance is required

SKILL / EDUCATION:

• Requires heavy experience in the transportation industry
• Mechanical background including diesel engines and transmissions, trailer repair (lights, brakes, tires, etc.) and A/C repair. Preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent required / prefer degree in related field and experience and / or knowledge of DOT / EPA regulations
• Maintain a CDL driver's license. Preferred
• Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through skills
• Computer literacy
• Must be able to work with other departments, including sales, production, and laboratory
• Must be able to trouble-shoot problems quickly
• Working knowledge of dispatching and scheduling trucks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Must be able to:  see (including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus);  read;  write;  sit for long periods of time;  speak and / or hear (including by phone);  use hands to finger, handle, or feel;  reach / grasp with hands and arms (must have good hand dexterity);  stand;  walk;  bend;  lift up to 50 pounds;  and withstand a generally moderate noise level.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  The work environment is moderately noisy.
