TSD Material Handler II

Primary Purpose

Responsible for loading, unloading, processing and storage of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and materials. Employee will perform all processes and operations at a permitted waste treatment facility in a safe and efficient manner. Requiring standing, stooping, and lifting for extended periods of times.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Utilize thorough knowledge of loading and unloading procedures in accordance with Company, federal, state and local regulations/rules.
  • Utilize thorough knowledge of storing and processing procedures based on Company categories.
  • Operate fork truck, Bob Cat with attachments and other HES vehicles.
  • Performs basic spill cleanup and housekeeping duties with little direction.
  • Utilize barcode system equipment to document most inventory activities.
  • Verify container marking and labeling requirements are met upon receipt.
  • Serve as a resource and trainer.
  • Utilize working knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations.
  • Sample drums following Heritage procedures and deliver to required department.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: 2 - 3 years of related experience required. 24 - 40 hour HAZWOPER Training completion required.

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Basic knowledge of EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations required. Good knowledge of general industry practices. Ability to lift 60 pounds. Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirator. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.


A post offer drug screen will be required.
