Shop Helper

JOB SUMMARY: Assist in providing maintenance and production support to rolling fleet and Transportation Maintenance Manager under limited supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist in providing maintenance and production support to rolling fleet.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repair of downed Tractor and/or Trailers, Forklifts, Yard Dog, Welder, and Pressure Washers.
• Assist in performing scheduled preventative maintenance on rolling fleet.
• Log and maintain all repair records to DOT and company policies.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other related duties as assigned.

SKILL/EDUCATION

• Minimum one year maintenance/mechanic experience.
• Mechanical background including diesel engines and transmissions, trailer repair (lights, brakes, tires, etc.) and A/C repair.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical/Mental demands: Ability to see (including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus), read, write, sit, speak, hear, use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach, and grasp, stand, walk, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is moderately noisy.
