Senior Project Manager

Primary Purpose

Manage environmental projects for Heritage customers and Heritage internal projects. Assist customer(s) with activities relating to a wide range of environmental, safety, and compliance matters. Specific knowledge of RCRA, DOT and OSHA are required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Work with Heritage customers to develop and implement appropriate plans and actions to address a wide variety of environmental needs. Common customer requests are related to compliance with EPA, DOT, and OSHA.
  • Work would include project scoping, budget and proposal development, project scheduling and implementation of the project. Prepare reports. Coordination with other Heritage teams and external subcontractors is required for many projects. Make customer calls with Heritage account reps.
  • Ensure Health & Safety of project activities under Heritage control.
  • Interface and communication with regulatory agencies.
  • Participation in Heritage training, safety and quality management programs.
  • Develop and track compliance and technical issues associated with customer requests.
  • As needed, develop dashboards and training programs for customers to achieve compliance goals.
  • Travel for extended periods is possible with some projects.
  • Display initiative and innovation in project approach and management.

Education: Minimum of a four-year college degree required; science, engineering, or safety preferred.

Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years in the hazardous waste industry required. Working knowledge of RCRA and DOT regulations preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities:

A detailed-oriented person with good organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form with a strong customer service orientation for internal and external customers. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently. In-depth knowledge of the customer's practices for handling hazardous materials. Ability to adapt to change in a fast-growing environment. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, evaluate, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to be proactive and take ownership of job duties and meet deadlines. Advanced Computer Skills, including Microsoft Office suite are required. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
