Primary Purpose

Ensure that all trucks are unloaded and that all incoming waste is sampled properly. Essential Functions and Responsibilities • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
  • Oversees sampling crew to ensure that all sampling and compliance is performed properly.
  • Obtains a daily drum count to ensure compliance.
  • Unloads and samples all incoming drum, tanker, and roll-off containers.
  • Prepares a bar-code two times weekly.
  • Manage, motivate, and coordinate team to effectively review manifests, correct problems, record truck information and manage all aspects of truck receipt from beginning to end.
  • Work with local transporters and transporter yards to manage inbound schedule.
  • Keep inventory orderly and in compliance around the clock.
  • Open every drum to secure the most representative sample possible, keep weights, pH, rad scan, IC's, RCI's, releases and ensure all other information is correct.
  • Assists the Environmental and Regulatory Department with manifest corrections

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: 1 year of related experience and 24-40-hour HAZWOPER certificate preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Basic knowledge of EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations preferred. Ability to understand general industry practices. Must be able to work as part of a team. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds in an outdoor environment during 12-hour shift. Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirator, hard hat, safety boots, protective eye wear, hearing protection, face shields, Tyvek suit, apron, heavy gloves, and uniforms. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

A post offer drug screen will be required.
