Quality Control Chemist

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related science
• Must currently be Laboratory Chemist or Laboratory Tech II
• A minimum of two years of analytical laboratory experience
• Experience in GC/MS or ICAP operation and maintenance
• Industrial or environmental laboratory experience preferred
• Know and understand the fundamentals of chemistry
• Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
• Must possess good laboratory safety and housekeeping skills.

DUTIES:

• Be a driver of safety and compliance among the department.
• Train all new laboratory technicians.
• Train current laboratory technicians on new methods, instruments, and procedures
• Ensure adequate training of laboratory personnel
• Be knowledgeable with all laboratory procedures
• Be knowledgeable with all laboratory instrumentation
• Troubleshoot instrument maintenance issue
• Coordinate on-site instrument service and preventative maintenance visits.
• Track laboratory consumable and parts inventory.
• Receive laboratory consumables and instrument parts
• Perform special projects to help improve laboratory data quality
• Other duties as assigned.
