Proposal Coordinator

Primary Purpose

Corporate Business Growth & Development Team Member, focusing on securing profitable Heritage business within all service lines, through formal proposal processes and through innovative unsolicited opportunities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Reviews requests for bids to determine type of opportunity, and if it is worthwhile to pursue; works with sales force to evaluate opportunities; prioritizes bid requests for preparation.
  • Coordinates with appropriate internal resources to prepare proposals including cost estimates, schedules, innovative and operational approaches.
  • Prepares and submits workload and opportunity reports on a regular basis.
  • Team member in providing solutions to our current or potential Corporate Clients, working closely with all members of the Growth & Development team.
  • Develops pricing for key opportunities utilizing internal assets and third party partners
  • Administers proposal management tracking system; attends staff meetings to review bid opportunities and bids in progress; follows up on outstanding proposals.
  • May manage key Corporate Accounts via direct relationship with client.
  • Conducts "handoff" meetings to program management and operations to initiate projects awarded.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: High School diploma or its equivalent required. Four year college degree in science-related, engineering or business major preferred.

Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in proposal preparation, sales, customer service or operations in the environmental field required.

Knowledge and Abilities: Good knowledge of MS Office and Adobe products. Proven ability to work in complex spreadsheets (MS Excel). Good knowledge and understanding of various federal, state and local industry-related regulations. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
