Production Chemist Apprentice

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering or chemistry with two years industrial experience.
  • Familiar with Hazardous Waste treatment or Incinerator preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA, DOT, RCRA and MACT.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under timelines.
  • Good computer skills including experience using Word, Excel, Outlook and Android operating system.

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for keeping drum receiving area of plant in compliance with permit and OEPA.
  • Responsible for all Health and Safety issues in drum receiving area of plant.
  • Observe and analyze BOP operations to help improve efficiency and production.
  • Support tactical determination and execution of optimal charge weights.
  • Assist with determining causes of exceedances.
  • Focus on "On Hold" inventory to minimize this and maximize available containers for scheduling.
  • Manage drum receiving process with inspection, sampling strategies and verify any piece count discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist Customer Experience with resolving discrepancies.
  • Schedule waste to the incinerator.
  • Manage Tank Farm.
  • Sample drums.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
