Plant Manager

Primary Purpose
Overall responsibility for the 24/7 Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility operations which includes the financial performance and compliance with governmental regulations as well as company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Manage day-to-day Plant operations.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are being followed
  • Interview, hire, train, evaluate performance, discipline and discharge employees
  • Monitor cost of plant operations, engaging in continuous improvement projects to positively impact operating margins for the organization
  • Develop pricing for new business offerings as well as maintain/update current pricing as market conditions change
  • Review and approve operations expenditures as it relates to equipment and supplies.
  • Responsible for the budgetary planning and for the financial performance of operations and capital expenditures.
  • Prepares and audits various mandatory reports
  • Ensures the proper and timely maintenance of all building, grounds, equipment, and vehicles for location.
  • Responsible for ensuring satisfaction of prospective and existing customers
  • Works with multiple departments (i.e. sales, customer service, transportation, billing, etc.) to ensure smooth running business processes and to grow the business into the plant as well as ancillary business occurring in the plants' geographic area
  • Works with peers throughout the Heritage network to ensure best practices are shared
  • Learns and uses operating systems software to develop reports, study business volumes and margin sand support day to day operations
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between all Heritage departments
  • Ability to travel in U.S. +/-20% of the time

Education: Four year college degree required.

Experience: 5+ years of Plant operations experience required.

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function.Thorough knowledge and understanding of all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the environmental services industry. Excellent leadership and managerial skills. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to wear personal protective equipment including respirator. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

A post offer drug screen will be required.
