Operations Clerical Supervisor

Job Summary: Support Plant Management and manage Operations Clerical Staff.

Essential Functions:

  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and update up to date CAO for regulatory agencies.
  • Audit Production Workbook (production totals from the previous day) and scan into file for historical reference.
  • Assist with profiling, scheduling, and negotiate pricing on special projects for operations as needed.
  • Review invoices for all inbound loads with unloading detention to ensure billed amount is correct.
  • Figure the daily inventory adjustments.
  • Maintain relationships with Hazardous, Non-Hazardous, and Non-Fuels outlets.
  • Communicating with sales regarding charges and outlets we utilize.
  • Manage and support all clerical staff in job duties during workload increase.
  • Discuss operation issues and assist with problems.
  • Review/Approve PTO and daily absences and communicate with other employees for coverage.
  • Complete employee evaluations.
  • Work with IT on computer and program issues.
  • Maintain compliance procedures.
  • Communicate with plant personnel regarding inbound and outbound loads time deadlines.
  • Prepare paperwork for material, which has been directed to be rejected to an alternate TSDF or to original generator.
  • Communicate with transporters regarding Arkansas "H" Permits, which expire yearly.
  • Responsible for auditing of systems and procedures.
  • Communicate with clerical/plant personnel/customer service about any problems that may arise.
  • Handle profile or paperwork problems on inbound and outbound loads and/or analytical delays.
  • Line count issues and communicate with Customer Service Supervisor and Shipping & Receiving Clerks.
  • Handle transporter issues.
  • Problem-solve manifesting, batch management and check in issues.
  • On call 24 hours, 7 days per week.

Skill/Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Supervisory experience with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Advance knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and RCRA regulations.
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other related science preferred.
  • Previous work experience in the hazardous waste industry a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must pass a company physical and drug screen. Must be able to come for callouts if needed. Must be able to concentrate for long periods of time.

Work Environment: The noise level in the office setting can be moderately noisy.
