Onsite QA/QC Technician

Primary Purpose                                                                                             

Performs functions to complete all sample analysis according to waste analysis plan approved methods in the laboratory.                                                                                        

Essential Functions and Responsibilities                                                                                

• Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.                                                                                                   
• Monitor and test process formulations and materials daily to ensure process meets or exceeds requirements of the customer.                                                                                          
• Prepare and record accurate Information and forward to personnel in a timely manner.                                                                                 
• Follow quality control plans or guidelines as assigned.                                                                                    
• Evaluate data for deviations or trends away from accepted standards.                                                                                    
• Interact with process team and customer.                                                                                           
• Sample appropriate materials test the materials, and keep record for review by project manager and customer.                                                                                 
• Conducts a monthly inventory on all supplies, chemicals, and other materials associated with the lab and places purchase requests with PM.                                                                                       
• Communicate with plant leadership on any product quality issues, trends or observations that impact quality, operations and customers.                                                                                         
• Troubleshoots and performs maintenance on all lab instrumentation.                                                                                     
• Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment & gas monitors.                                                                                   
• Enters results into database and maintains proper logs based on company policies and procedures.                                                                                         
• Performs housekeeping duties per company policy.                                                                                         
• Coordinates the retention and disposal of lab samples and lab waste per company policy.                                                                                              
• Bumps meters and other instrumentation. Operates instrumentation independently.                                                                                      
• Calculates, runs, prepares and reports analytical data

Education: High school diploma plus 1 semester of college chemistry required. Four year college degree with a chemistry or science/technical based major preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Good mathematical and computer skills required, including Excel. Ability to utilize all necessary laboratory equipment. Must be physically able to operate lab equipment. Ability to lift 50lbs. Hazwoper certification a plus. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.                                                                                                                                "
