Onsite Project Manager

Primary Purpose

Individual will have overall responsibility for the operations on-site which include Hazardous, non-hazardous, E&P exempt and MSW Waste Management. Puts projects together, i.e., proposal/quote, equipment, labor, determines length of project and cost; ensure safety and compliance with governmental regulations and Company policies and procedures are being followed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Manage and schedule day-to-day on-site operations to optimize employee and equipment utilization
  • Monitor cost of on-site operations, i.e. projects, equipment and supplies, which in turn dictate pricing and profitability
  • Responsible for ensuring satisfaction of on-site clients.
  • Must be available for Emergency Response and after hours calls
  • Conduct Daily Tailgate/ Safety Meetings with employees
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies.
  • Interview, hire, train, evaluate performance, discipline and discharge employees.
  • Scope projects to determine equipment, labor and estimated length of project and costs. Develops written proposals for projects.
  • Monitor's daily on-site tasks and projects, keep client apprised of project progress and negotiates change orders with client.
  • Manage on-site 90-day accumulation area and hazardous/non-hazardous/E&P (Exploration and Production) exempt waste shipments
  • Responsible for monthly billing approval, review and approval of employee daily time sheets and various other administrative tasks.

Education: Four-year college degree required. In lieu of degree, 7 yrs. experience in the environmental/waste management field required.

Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in the environmental field/waste management field required.

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Experience in balancing and delivering multiple projects in a deadline driven environment. Ability to foster lasting relationships with clients and supplier partners. Ability to be solve problems and provide solutions with limited direction. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and build relationships with internal and external contacts. Superior organizational and time management skills. Ability to write business proposals. Thorough knowledge and understanding of all various federal, state, and local industry-related regulations. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
