Onsite Chemical Treatment Operator

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Adds proper mixture of chemicals to incoming waste materials in order to change the compositions to disposable products in accordance with Company rules and regulations.
• Directs liquid waste through a system of pumps and treatment tanks for treatment.
• Moves treated products to press area for further treatment and disposal following company guidelines.
• Develops & implements LOTO activities
• Writes Safe Work Permits
• Discharges secondary tanks into sewers when approved.
• Monitors and tests waste materials to ensure the proper combination of chemicals are added and allowing for proper disposal.
• Maintains operations record.

Education: High School Diploma or its equivalent required.

Experience: One year of Heritage experience preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Knowledge of OSHA plant safety regulations. Ability to understand RCRA compliance standards. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including respirator.

A post offer drug screen will be required.
