ODS Chemist

Primary Purpose

Responsible for the sampling, testing, and consolidation of refrigerants (ODS) for destruction.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Assist in developing standard operation procedures for the ODS consolidation process.
• Provide guidance during planning inbound schedule to maximize production.
• Provide technical assistance during processing of materials that have safety concerns.
• Acquiring samples of ODS, analyze and interpret GC/MS, and equipment operation for consolidation.
• Must be willing to obtain EPA 608 certification within 2 months of employment (company paid).
• Learn Production Chemist role to fill in as needed.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or closely related natural science required. In lieu of degree minimum 5 years experience as a Chemist required.

Experience: Minimum 1-3 years experience with GC/MS required.

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent time management skills with regards to work assignments and expectations. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
