Non-Fuels Chemist

Responsible for the approval and/or denial of new and re-certification of profiles to meet Rineco and regulatory requirements

Essential Functions

• Provide leadership to ensure company objectives are achieved.
• Profile Rineco through network of outlets.
• Evaluate, approve, or reject waste profiles based on the facility's ability to process the material in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
• Evaluate customer-supplied information to ensure the information meets the facility's Waste Analysis Plan.
• Work with marketing and customer service personnel to facilitate the approval or rejection of profiles.
• Work with ultimate treatment/disposal facility to secure approval for direct and non-fuel waste streams.
• Facilitate pricing of direct and non-fuel materials for sales department based on disposal and transportation cost for outlets.
• Work with outlets and Sales to resolve discrepancies.
• Requires regular and punctual attendance.

 Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related duties as assigned and must travel when needed.

Skill/Education

• This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function.
  
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry/Biology/Basic Science or related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of specialization in the hazardous waste industry preferred.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills as well as the ability to think independently and make decisions.
• Demonstrated skill in the generation and implementation of innovative ideas.
• Detailed understanding of regulatory requirements and a specific familiarity of facility processes.

 Physical/Mental Demands:  Must be able to see, hear, speak, read, write, sit, walk, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 30 lbs.

 Work Environment:  The work environment is moderately noisy.
