Network Engineer As a Network Engineer you will be responsible for providing network support for the entire computing environment including hardware procurement and deployment, Tier 3 system support, and management of deployment and rehab projects.


Essential Functions & Requirements:

  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Provides support for existing Cisco, Palo Alto, and Aruba infrastructure deployments
  • Leads the design of the overall network layout group-wide
  • Monitors IOS versions and schedules updates as required
  • Designs, tests, and deploys configuration templates as required
  • Adheres to and updates process documentation as needed
  • Utilizes industry best practices to continuously improve network resiliency and performance
  • Documents configuration and monitors various aspects of the network infrastructure
  • Provides support to the ServiceDesk to resolve escalated tickets requiring specific technical knowledge
  • Provides Tier 3 network troubleshooting and support including on-call rotations and after-hours assistance
  • Completes assigned monitoring and management responsibilities as needed
  • Maintains the ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field (required)
  • Certifications: Cisco CCNA Security and CCNA Routing and Switching (preferred)

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in CLI configuration with Cisco switches and routers (required)
  • 5+ years of experience in LAN/WAN technologies and routing protocols (required), including:
    • BGP
    • OSPF
    • Cisco Wireless
    • SD-WAN
  • 5+ years of experience in Palo Alto Firewall configuration (required) for:
    • Policy and rules
    • IPSEC tunnels
    • Client VPN
  • Previous experience with Aruba ClearPass and SolarWinds platforms (required) -OR-
  • In lieu of degree, 9+ years of experience in the areas identified (required)

Competencies:

  • Comfortability with and ability to provide support for remote locations
  • Knowledge of ITIL-based service delivery for incident management, change management, problem management, capacity management, and configuration management
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues independently, while demonstrating sound judgment and a solid sense of personal accountability
  • Ability to employ 'Think, Plan, Do' when addressing all tasks of varying magnitudes
  • Ability to take initiative in unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Ability to gain alignment with different functional groups and represent a common point of view across various stakeholders
  • Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
