Lead Fabricator

Primary Purpose

Responsible for performing highly diversified duties Weld fabricate and repair new and existing equipment, processes and facility equipment according to applicable safety and quality guidelines. Employee must support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on equipment and plant facilities.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment.
• Perform welding and fabrication skills including, but not limited to high pressure piping, structural, hydraulic, and repair of equipment.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and drawings.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
• Comply with safety regulations and practices.

Education: High school diploma or its equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of industrial experience, strong welding, fabrication, and mechanical skills. Experience on Arc, Mig, and Tig required. Fabrication, process pipe fitting and welding on various materials including stainless, copper, carbon, and aluminum experience required. High pressure pipe fitting and welding is required. Welding certifications preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Use a variety of hand and power tools, and material handling equipment in performing duties. Must be able to operate forklifts, man lifts, and hoists safely and competently. Must be highly motivated and able to work safely and independently. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times. Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work at elevated levels as required. Both shop and outdoor work is required year around in all weather conditions. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
