Lab Coordinator
Primary Purpose
Maintains and runs lab equipment including GC/MS, bomb calorimeter, centrifuge, auto-titrator, flash point analyzer. Samples on-site waste, submits samples to third party lab, reviews analytical. Evaluates and clears off-spec holds. Tech services (lab packing) and occasional field services work, such as sampling and project management).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Samples and analyzes lab equipment to assist in approving and reviewing waste into a TSD. Calibrates lab equipment. Enters results of lab analysis in MMS.
- Reviews analytical data and contacts customers with off-spec issues upon waste arrival. Manages third party lab analysis for TSD. Evaluates lab analysis for waste profiling and haz waste determination.
- Performs project management functions, including hiring contractors for site projects, securing permits, ensuring compliance and coordinating production.
- May be responsible for project billing and cost tracking operations.
- Responds as needed to provide technical assistance on emergency response calls.
- Proficient in the MMS computer system.
- Conducts lab packs and may direct Field Chemist I, Field Chemist II and Senior Field Chemist while performing on-site activities.
- Responds to customer inquiries about company and company services.

Education: Four year college degree or equivalent. Environmental Science major preferred.
Experience: One to two years experience in the hazardous waste management industry.
Knowledge and Abilities: Thorough knowledge and understanding of all federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the Environmental Services industry. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
A post offer drug screen will be required.
