Industrial Maintenance Mechanic- Nights

Primary Purpose

Perform repairs and installations of pumps, pipes, storage tanks, forklifts, and other equipment related to the waste treatment processes including material handling at our facility.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Plant maintenance including general repairs and replacement of pumps, valves, piping, and hoses as needed. Basic pipefitting including threading pipe.
  • Lubricates pumps, mixers, motors, and other equipment; replaces grease fittings and oilers if necessary
  • Maintains and refills filter urns, replaces insulation and stream tracing on pumps and lines as needed.
  • Perform standard mechanical PM's for the facility.
  • Identify inventory needs and report to supervisor.
  • Diagnose, repair, rebuild or replace process pumps (centrifugal, air diaphragm, progressive cavity, rotary lobe, etc.)
  • Understand OSHA and company rules for: lock out/tag out procedures; confined space entry; hot work and pipeline breaking and other associated procedures.
  • Perform coating repairs.
  • Wear protective PPE such as a respirator, gloves, boots, and suit when working in chemical areas.
  • Serves as an active member of the Plant Emergency Response Team (PERT); ensures mechanical shutdown in case of an emergency.
  • Covers weekends on a rotating schedule.

Education: High school Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum 1 to 3 years of industrial maintenance experience. Technical training certifications or degrees may be considered in lieu of experience

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude required. Must be able to work in both elevated and confined spaces. Must operate boom-lifts, scissor-lifts, forklifts, etc. Prior experience in pump rebuilding and pipefitting a major plus. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

A post offer drug screen will be required.
