IT Applications Manager

Reporting to the VP of IT, as our IT Applications Manager you will be responsible for the overall architecture and development of enterprise software solutions across the organization. Working collaboratively with leadership, you will be charged with creating and implementing a forward-looking technology vision and strategy to support the current and emerging business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Overall management of the analysis, evaluation, development, testing and implementation of software applications for various programs across Heritage Environmental Leadership, collaboration, and overall operational effectiveness
  • Manage the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for programs
  • Ownership of Heritage current application portfolio - ensuring maximum utility from existing systems
  • Manage application and systems development life cycles and implement industry best practices and standards
  • Establish software governance organization wide to ensure greatest value, manage growth, promote integration, mitigate risks, and eliminate software silos
  • Develop project timelines - identifying project tasks and procedures
  • Assess the skills set of existing teams and adjust as necessary to ensure successful project implementations by providing mentorship and professional development
  • As needed, recruit, train and develop high performing team members to strategically implement industry best practices
  • Adopt a "cloud first" philosophy for service delivery
  • Ownership of compliance with contract specifications
  • Analyze business systems to determine effectiveness and identify inadequacies/inefficiencies. Recommend solutions and application software development and oversight of Project Management for Enterprise Applications team
  • Maintain a strong understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers, and measures of success for the business as well as the short- and long-term direction of the business and technology
  • Focus on creating forward looking business innovations with superior customer service and communication throughout the organization.
  • Ensure proper documentation and testing is performed as part of change management process.
  • Successful management of a broad range of IT projects
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of development experience using .NET. Expertise in REST and RPC APIs required. Minimum 5 years of development experience producing code using .NET languages (C#, VB .NET) required. Minimum 5 years of increasing responsibility as an Application Manager, overall architecture and Sr software development, or similar position required. Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (ReactJS), TypeScript Java, JavaScript, SQL preferred. Experience with Oracle/PLSQL and ERP required. Design and execute database changes in Oracle required. Start and stop primary application components under regular operation in Windows and Linux required.

Knowledge and Abilities: Strong leadership skills - ability to recruit, train and mentor. Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work across the entire Heritage Environmental organization which strongly values integrity and collegiality. Customer Service Oriented - values the customer, responds to them quickly and efficiently. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and context effectively to all audience. Innovative, creative thinker. Passion for working in a mission focused organization. Team player has a "coach/player" approach to management.
