Hydro Vac Driver/Supervisor

*Working Shift hours of this position are Sunday - Saturday from 7pm - 5am*

Primary Purpose                                                             

The Hydro Vac Driver/Supervisor will drive and operate the on-board hydro-vacuum system outside the truck performing non-destructive excavation of storm water catch basins. The driver operator will also have the responsibility of tank entry, cleaning and vacuuming, mobilization of equipment, truck maintenance, as well as conduct daily safety meetings.                                                  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities                                                

• Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.                                                   
• Prepare for daily work by inspecting vehicle and equipment and ensure all is in excellent operating order.                                                            
• Operate Heritage equipment in a safe and professional manner.                                                               
• Mobilization of equipment in and out.                                                   
• Perform pre and post trip inspections.                                                   
• Properly document all Company, Federal, State, and Customer documentation/paperwork as required by law and or established policy in a clear and legible manner.                                                               
• Able to effectively and professionally communicate with on-site customer representative to locate least intrusive and safest place to park company equipment while on job site.                                                           
• Able to lead and direct Field Laborers to perform duties/tasks in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.                                                      
• Able to troubleshoot and as the need arises, perform minor repairs to equipment.                                                           
• Perform duties of a Field Laborer if business needs warrant it.                                                    
• Work in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time.                                                         
• Work extended hours.                                                  
• Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 60 lbs.                                                         
• This position requires travel within 70 miles of the Greater Atlanta Area.

Education: High school diploma or its equivalent is required.                                                                                                                                             

Experience: Class B CDL required. Previous hydrovac, trucking, vacuum truck or other related industrial experience preferred. Heavy equipment operation experience preferred. Trenching, excavating, pumping, or sewer cleaning experience preferred. OSHA10 safety card Certification preferred. Previous supervision experience preferred.                                                     

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Must possess and exhibit a strong safety acumen. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. This is a 24/7 365-day operation. Ability to work nights and weekend. Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 60 lbs. Must be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). This position requires the ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Must be must be able to work nights and weekends. Must be able to pass Motor Vehicle search to company standards. Must meet all Heritage driving qualifications. This position requires travel within 70 miles of the Greater Atlanta Area. Must be able and willing to drive and stay in the greater Atlanta area. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
