Human Resources Internship

Primary Purpose: This internship opportunity with Heritage Environmental Services is part of a large program hosted by our parent company, The Heritage Group. It is a 12 week program where you are immersed in your assigned department gaining real hands on experience and participating in over 20 different events with the larger intern network.


Essential Functions and Requirements:

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Begin to develop a current knowledge of HR Laws and Regulations in our multistate organization.
  • Develop a working knowledge of HR internal databases to update employee information, or prepare HR-related reports.
  • Distribute, Track and File company policy acknowledgements.
  • Willingness to assist in recruiting process when needed
  • Audits of HR current SOP's and processes; review, update and openly share new ideas.
  • Properly handle internal or external requests through responsiveness, follow-up and escalation.

Education: Full-time enrolled current Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organization Management, or related field. Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.

Experience: Prior internship or after school/weekend experience preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities: Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job. Must be able to complete a minimum of 10 out of 12 weeks.


A post offer drug screen will be required.
