HSE Training Leader

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for creating and presenting environmental (specifically RCRA), safety, and DOT (PHMSA) training materials for our customers and employees both in person and virtually. Participates in the maintenance of all related training documentation for these program offerings. This training may be presented to Heritage customers and employees.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Employee will be responsible for preparing and delivering training on EHS topics to existing and potential Heritage customers, as well as our employees. Trainings may take place remotely or in person in groups ranging from 5-200 people.

Researches, writes, edits, prepares, provides document control, and maintains all training materials (lesson plans/guide, handouts, surveys, etc.)

Provides classroom and hands on training as necessary to achieve program objectives.

Monitors and tracks training program progress, objectives, and goals.

Coordinates and communicates training program offerings and marketing these programs.

Issues training completion documentation to attendees using company provided software.

Provides training offering schedules as requested or needed.

Will be expected to present Heritage services to customers as part of training.

Up to 60% travel will be required but can be scheduled.

Willingness to learn federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Performs other related special projects and duties as assigned.

Ability to schedule, reserve and ensure that all training needs are made and that the room layouts are conducive to a learning environment.

Education:

Four-year college degree required. Engineering, science/chemistry or environmental science degree preferred. Educational/training degree strongly considered. Masters preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years in industrial or consulting experience, in the environmental services industry or environmental, safety, DOT or training field required. RCRA, HAZWOPER, HazMat background preferred. Past experience with developing and conducting training programs preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts. Excellent public speaking ability required. Thorough knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the environmental, health and safety, and DOT services industry. Ability to use audio/visual equipment, webinar tools, internet capabilities. Strong computer skills especially in Microsoft programs. Strong PowerPoint abilities. Strong English and grammar background for all spoken and written items. Must be able to travel and to work day shift, night shift or weekend shifts as necessary based on program offerings. Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule based on training needs and travel schedules. Must work with customer in a courteous and professional manner. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must have a current valid motor vehicle license. Strong business writing skills. Ability to work in fast paced environment. Good organizational skills. Experience with preparing/presenting training preferred.
