Field Laborer

*Working hours of this position are Monday - Saturday from 7pm - 5am*

Primary Purpose                                                                                             

Responsible for providing assistance, labor, and support resources to the operator/driver for the basin clean out work. Responsible for various operational and labor activities at the job site along the roadways or during the preparation, loading or unloading processes.                                                                               

Essential Functions and Responsibilities                                                                                

• Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.                                                                                   
• Removes grates and replaces grates in the storm basins.                                                                               
• Provides labor and support for the cleaning operations of the storm basins along the roadway and at job sites.                                                                                    
• Operate Heritage equipment in a safe and professional manner.                                                                               
• Must be able to work in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time.                                                                         
• Must be able to work nights, including weekends.                                                                                           
• Able to hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty.                                                                                   
• Must be able to follow direction, work independently and demonstrate a strong customer service focus.                                                                               
• Loads and unloads trucks, helps with water fill process.                                                                                 
• Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 60 lbs.                                                                                         
• Inspects trucks, helps provide and ensure that all safety aspects are working on the equipment and on trucks to alert other drivers and passerby's to the work being completed.                                                                                                                                                                         
• This position requires travel within 70 miles of the Greater Atlanta Area.

Education: High School Diploma or its equivalent required.                                                                                          

Experience: Construction labor, general labor, or road crew experience preferred. Trenching, excavating, pumping or sewer cleaning experience preferred. OSHA 10 safety card Certification preferred. Heritage to provide all necessary and required training.                                                                                   

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Ability to understand traffic safety and OSHA safety regulations are a must. Must be able to wear PPE, including hearing protection, safety vest, safety glasses, hard hat, and work uniform. Must be willing and able to lift up to 60 pounds, push/pull, kneel, squat, bend stoop reach and walk during entire work shift. This position requires the ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to work nights and weekends. Must be willing to work and nights. Individual must possess a motor vehicle driver's license and be able to pass a MVR. Must be able and willing to drive and stay in the greater Atlanta area. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
