Heritage Thermal Services (HTS) is dedicated to safety, compliance, our community and our employees.   HTS is located on the Ohio River in East Liverpool, Ohio.  Known as the tri-state area, we border Pennsylvania and West Virginia.  The facility is approximately 30 minutes from the Greater Pittsburgh Airport and provides opportunity for big city adventures, small town communities, and country living. 

About the position:

The Environmental Specialist is responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with the facility permits, serving as the facility contact for the Ohio EPA, assisting in special projects, reviewing and interpreting regulations among other duties.  This position is required to work in both the office and plant.

Requirements:

• Minimum three years' regulatory hazardous waste experience.
• Experience with Ohio and USEPA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of RCRA and MACT preferred.
• Ability to solve problems and provide solutions with minimal direction.
• Must possess strong computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must have strong interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills
• 40 Hour Hazmat certification required for plant entry.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, background check, and drug screen.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

 Minimum Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Science

 Responsibilities include:

• Conduct plant audits as needed to ensure compliance with hazardous waste regulations
• Manage all compliance permits
• Point of contact for Ohio EPA
• Prepare and submit routine compliance reports
• Review and interpret regulations pertaining to RCRA, MACT and Title V
• Lead or assist in special projects as needed
• Responsible for handling training issues
• Responsible for educating employee of facility compliance
• Other duties as assigned
