Environmental Engineering Internship

Primary Purpose: This internship opportunity with Heritage Environmental Services is part of a large program hosted by our parent company, The Heritage Group. It is a 12 week program where you are immersed in your assigned department gaining real hands on experience and participating in over 20 different events with the larger intern network.

Essential Functions and Requirements:

• Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe and compliant manner at all times.
• Assist in projects focused on sustainability including but not limited to greenhouse gas accounting, lifecycle analysis, and data analysis.
• Learn RCRA and DOT regulations to support business functions.
• Provide technical assistance to other departments as needed.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite to perform data management.
• Ability to perform investigative research into environmental and business topics and conduct competitor analyses.

Education: Full-time enrolled current Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.

Experience: Prior internship or after school/weekend experience preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities: Understands MS Office tools. Ability to learn business specific software. Ability to analyze and problem solve. Strong teamwork, networking, written and verbal communication skills. Organizational and time management skills.

Requirements: Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job. Must be able to complete a minimum of 10 out of 12 weeks.
