Environmental Clerk

Primary Purpose                                                             

Provide clerical support to department supervisor and other department members as well as document management.                                                               

Essential Functions and Responsibilities                                                

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.                                                   
  • Data entry, filing, reporting, answer phones, coordinate mail                                                       
  • Order office supplies and maintain inventories                                                  
  • Scan manifests, pre-index scanned manifests, & cross train with Manifest Coordinator                                    
  • Audit daily inbound manifest                                                     
  • Scan and pre-index regulations & regulatory Correspondence                                                     
  • Update MMS with manifest changes [outbound]                                                              
  • Assist with inbound and outbound monthly manifest audit in MMS                                                          
  • Assist with Annual Report                                                           
  • Issue problems to the Customer for manifest problems
  • eManifest Site Certifier
  • Work with Customer Service

Education: High School Diploma or its equivalent required.                                                                                                                                 

Experience: One year of previous office experience is required. Previous work experience in the chemistry or hazardous waste industry is preferred.                                                                                                                                                                      

Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and RCRA regulations. Knowledge of the Docuware system (scanning and pre-indexing, etc.), Manifest Correction and D.O.T. regulations. Strong working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office and Excel applications. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
