ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP

An internship with Heritage Environmental Services will offer invaluable hands-on experience for your future career, as the selected individuals will be assisting business professionals in the daily management of the various departments with guidance from experienced professionals.

We are looking for motivated, dynamic, personable, and professional Engineering Interns for our summer program to join our team. The Engineering Interns will gain exposure and experience in the principles, methods and techniques of engineering concerned with facilities and systems. In this role, you will also build on regulatory knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • As an Engineering intern, depending on the plant or location you may take on responsibility for assignments as a Process Engineer, Production Engineer, Project Engineer, or Maintenance & Reliability Engineer.
  • Implement and lead production performance improvement projects, provide support to the engineering department in the various areas (safety/environment, quality, capacity, competitiveness).
  • Analyze and improve current processes to improve environmental compliance, occupational/process safety and/or plant capacity.
  • Implement and lead maintenance and reliability best practices.
  • Lead and coordinate project work, including supervision of contractors, for plant or location improvements in line with the site or location's capital project needs
  • Assists the Plant or location group as assigned, with the research, development, testing, and proper design maintenance of all Heritage areas.
  • May require limited travel to learn of product operations and conditions.
  • Under the supervision of one or several project leaders, perform basic engineer responsibilities such as drafting, design, project management, plant layouts, research, data collection and documentation.

Education: Candidate must be a full-time enrolled Junior/Senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering required. Overall GPA>2.7, with GPA in major >3.0

Other BS/MS majors that may be considered are Environmental and Industrial Engineering

Experience: Must be able to complete a minimum of 10 weeks or a maximum 12-week commitment. Must be able to complete 40 hours per week.

Knowledge & Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Knowledge and demonstrated use of Microsoft Office software. Anxious to learn new things and contribute quickly. Timely, positive and professional work habits required. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
