Strategy and Markets Analyst, Emerging Talent
Primary Purpose:
The Emerging Talent Programs at Heritage Environmental Services are designed to train and develop high potential candidates and provide opportunities to accelerate your career growth and gain direct, hands-on experience. Working alongside managers and leaders, exposure to high level projects, and individualized mentorship provides a unique experience for all participants.
The Strategy and Market Analyst Program is a 2-year program that focuses providing senior business leaders with market and competitive intelligence insights in support of the ambitious growth targets defined by our Full Potential Plan (FPP). You will be part of a newly formed corporate strategy team, and you will work side-by-side experienced strategy leaders. You will conduct qualitive and quantitative research using public and proprietary data sources, synthesize analytical findings into clear and actionable insights, support strategic planning, market segmentation, and value proposition design, as well as facilitation of workshops, writing of reports, and creation of presentations.
Essential Functions & Requirements – Talent Programs:
- Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times
- Develop an understanding of how the company works and build relationships with Emerging Talent Program Representatives through regularly scheduled meetings, annual training workshops, and mentor programs.
- Network with professionals from various disciplines across the organization to enhance teamwork, collaboration, communication, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Maintain awareness of all Company policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance.
Essential Functions & Requirements – Strategy Acceleration Analyst:
- Gather and analyze public and proprietary qualitative and quantitative market data and develop insights in support of strategic planning and growth projects.
- Prepare market and competitive intelligence reports and presentation for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Work with the Vice President of Strategy to develop, establish, and facilitate comprehensive annual strategic planning process.
- Provide as needed support to strategic growth projects including market due diligence for acquisitions, new market entry, new product/solutions development, and geographic expansion.
- Prepare meeting agendas, presentations, and follow-up report and support workshop facilitation.
- Work with the Transformation Office to keep initiatives aligned with strategic priorities.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business, or related field of study (required)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (required)
- High performing recent graduate or expectation to graduate by start date OR qualifying education must have been obtained within the past 2 years of the start date.
Experience:
- Prior relevant internship, co-op, or practical experience (required)
- Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative such as a school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, etc or exceptional leadership on work projects (required)
Competencies:
- Strong teamwork, networking, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Organizational and time management skills.
