Dispatcher/Planner

JOB SUMMARY: Plan and coordinate the movement of trucks and freight between cities in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Punctual and regular attendance
  • Determine the daily level of driver staffing to provide the best mix of responsiveness and productivity.
  • Responsible for planning inbound/outbound schedules to support logistical requirements of Rineco.
  • Maintain daily communications with all working drivers and team.
  • Map reading skills are necessary for determining the most practical and profitable routes.
  • Responsible for preparing routes and calculating mileages for outbound and inbound scheduling.
  • Must be able to direct the pickup and delivery activities of drivers.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves potential pickup/delivery problems before they result in service issues.
  • Record and document relative information and distribute to appropriate departments.
  • Required to use professional conduct and always project a professional image.
  • Take the lead role in communicating logistical and staffing needs to other Operational personnel.
  • Communicates with CSR's to schedule pickups, drops and Rineco plant needs to maintain the integrity of the operations schedule.
  • Ability to provide immediate assistance remotely.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to manage a diverse group of drivers.
  • Must be able to manage inventory of equipment.

SKILL / EDUCATION:

  • Requires two years' office experience.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Trucking / scheduling experience, knowledge of DOT Hazardous waste regulations are desirable.
  • Computer skills needed.
  • Map reading skills required.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

Physical/Mental Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, use hands to finger; required to sit. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must pass a company drug screen. Must be able to cover for callouts if needed. Must be able to concentrate for long periods of time.

Work Environment: Office setting.

A post offer drug screen will be required.
