Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Manage paperwork associated with incoming and outgoing shipments (I.e. billing documents and hazardous waste manifests).
  • Uses Heritage Waste Inventory system to track loads; While updating federal paperwork and keeping the process in compliance. This process may deal with physical, chemical and compliance issues.
  • Ensures that load movements are made in accordance with established transport and treatment priorities.
  • Keeps track of all moving equipment that is to be loaded or unloaded.
  • Coordinate all equipment movements and moves and unloads in a timely manner.
  • Assist with off-hour telephone coverage; coordinate appropriate responses to emergency calls, customer requests and other calls related to Heritage operations.
  • Monitors and manages facility gates to ensure authorized access to the facility per the security protocols.
  • Help manage inbound scheduling with Shift Supervisor.
  • Schedule shipments to other facilities with Transportation and disposal facility.
  • Communicates issues with associated parties and works to resolve.
  • Martians logs to help track production and other associated metrics.
  • Receive full training in DOT and RCRA manifesting procedures in order to receive drums as a 10-day and/or TSD facility.
  • Help set lab and logistics priorities to meet plant production goals
  • Image Shipping paperwork for electronic files
  • Learn use of Heritage computer system (MMS) to log data, print reports, etc. and use e-mail, Word and other tools.
  • Fill in for Chemical Supervisor when needed; including managing personnel and answering questions from the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education: Highschool diploma or its equivalent required. Degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum 1 year related office experience with data entry required. Strong working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. required.

Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of OSHA plant safety regulations. Basic chemical knowledge preferred. Position can encounter hazardous materials and will often require use of PPE; boots, gloves, eye/ear protection an respirator. Must have excellent interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Strong decision making skills. Superior writing skills. Thorough knowledge of environmental business. Willingness to learn MMS system.

A post offer drug screen will be required.
