Broker Manager As a Broker Manager you will be responsible for assisting in the brokering and proper disposal of waste materials while partnering with various business units and teams with the facility and across the organization.

Essential Functions & Requirements:

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
• Utilizes skills within the company MMS system to locate, track, manifest and ship waste to other facilities
• Develops, maintains and initiates reports on all activities for management review or as required by regulations, Company policies and procedures
• Utilizes knowledge to coordinate and / or manage hazardous material assessment, cylinder handling, hazardous waste generation, shipping and related procedures including container labeling, sorting and waste determination as needed
• Assists in the scheduling and planning of assigned employee tasks to ensure production goals are met and tracked for efficiency
• Assumes ownership and maintenance of inventory of outbound facilities for brokered waste
• Partners with Off-Spec Coordinator to ensure customers can receive a brokered option for off-spec waste
• Identifies problems during the brokering process and works with the Off-Spec Coordinator to ensure all obstacles are noted and resolved; documents all issues including compliance, physical, and chemical problems associated with loads
• Utilizes waste knowledge to identify the most safe, compliant, and cost-effective on-site storage and packaging of brokered waste
• Assists in the planning and organizing of daily brokering activities including interacting with transporters to schedule loads and preventing / resolving issues, including any off-spec resolutions needed at outbound facilities
• Interfaces with in-unit teams and other departments and management to ensure a smooth workflow throughout the facility
• Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Education:

• Bachelor's degree (required); focus in a science-related discipline (preferred)

Experience:

• 3+ years of RCRA and / or DOT experience in the hazardous waste management and / or environmental management industry (required)

Competencies:

• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
• Foundational understanding of various Federal, State and local industry related regulations
• Strong working knowledge of RCRA, DOT and waste placarding, compatibility, and segregation practices and requirements
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment as needed, including a respirator
• Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
