Broker Coordinator

Primary Purpose

Plan and coordinate outbound loads to internal and external disposal facilities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Ensure waste inventories are managed by scheduling outbound loads and providing others with a specific list of wastes to be shipped, and bulking/consolidation needs.
  • Create and print manifest and all other required paperwork for drum loads.
  • Track revenue from loads and various load metrics.
  • Maintain DOT compliance on outbound drum loads.
  • Request and update internal waste stream profiles as well as third party approval forms.
  • Record information about outbound loads such as weight, number of drums, ship date, etc.
  • Utilize knowledge of what waste facilities can take and their parameters to avoid off-spec charges.
  • Utilize ability to look at waste and determine the proper disposal method, and find the most financially sound and compliant way of disposal.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. 4 year degree preferred.

Experience: 1 - 2 years experience in the hazardous waste management and/or environmental management industry required. 24 or 40 hour HAZWOPER Training completion required.

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function.
Strong working knowledge of various Federal, State and Local industry related regulations required. Strong working knowledge of RCRA, DOT, placarding, compatibility, and segregation required. Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirator. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

A post offer drug screen will be required.
