BOP Group Manager Upgrade

Primary Purpose:

The BOP Group Manager Upgrade will fill in for current BOP Group Managers during PTO or other leaves of absence. There will be four positions (1 per crew). The Upgrade will work as an upgrade on an opposite crew as their regularly assigned crew. This position provides on the job training for employees wishing to advance in their career. However, this position does not guarantee the award of the next BOP Group Manager opening. The Upgrade position will be re-bid every 18-months or as needed.

Essential Functions and Requirements:

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Supervision of Group Managers (Balance of Plant) and Industrial Maintenance GM.
  • Hold GMs accountable for driving safety and compliance culture
  • Coordinate with Operations Planner to align receiving and processing needs
  • Ensure adequate training of Balance of Plant personnel
  • Assume alternate Plant Emergency Coordinator duties in the event of an emergency
  • Maintain proper processing and waste preparation to ensure available material for incineration, Drums in lanes, Adequate levels in tanks
  • Complete weekly draft
  • Review all inspections and start of shift reports for accuracy
  • Conduct annual review of all BOP and IM SOPs
  • Work with lab pack group to ensure compliance of this area
  • Manage fiber trailer inventory
  • Manage recycling material (cardboard, totes, drums etc)
  • Organize crew assignments and personnel
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Work as BOP Group Manager Upgrade when needed.
  • When not working as an Upgrade, will perform normal job duties.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent with equivalent experience. Trained in Incident Command (may be obtained after awarded position).

Experience: Currently employed in Balance of Plant. Minimum of one (1) year employment in BOP. Most recent evaluation score must be 3.0 or higher. No active disciplines. Must complete 120 hours of training with BOP Group Manager within 90 days of accepting upgrade position. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.


A post offer drug screen will be required.
