Automation Engineer

Primary Purpose:. Creation and maintenance of Delta V automation system and instrumentation interface to Delta V.

Essential Functions and Requirements:

• Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Interface with Emerson on code changes and design work for current and future Delta V automation system and instrumentation interface to DCS.
• Troubleshoot any malfunction in the DCS
• Maintain automated data storage
• On call for DCS problems or new material determination.
• Participate in and contribute in troubleshooting and problem solving regarding plant interface and installations of new processes
• Help select and oversee installation of process instruments

Education:

• Degree in Chemistry, engineering, or equivalent experience pertaining to the knowledge and requirements listed.

Experience: Delta V and automation systems programming and installation.

Knowledge and Abilities:

• Knowledge of waste operations and regulations a plus as well as DOT, RCRA, OSHA regulations.
• Requires a detailed understanding of the R&D goals, requirements and specific tasks and projects.
• Basic knowledge of plant control systems
• Technical knowledge of process instrumentation diagrams
• Knowledge of basic industrial fluid handling
• Requires urgent troubleshooting and problem solving
• Time management with multi-tasking skills and experience.
