Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Assist with Balance Sheet Reconciliations and backup for the FY2019 audit.
  • Work on special projects/schedules for the audit.
  • Co-responsibility for our FY2019 Audit Book presented to our auditors upon arrival which includes all requested items.
  • Learn basic knowledge of our financial reporting system PeopleSoft. The right candidate will do some data entry in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable as part of the initial learning process as well as training with our billing group to get an overview of the system.
  • Assist with Audit requests while auditors are onsite.
  • Will learn a few basic closing steps for financial statement preparation.
  • Perform an analytical review of financial statements.
  • Assist with setting up new recurring journal entries for FY2020
  • Other miscellaneous items as needed.

Our Summer Interns are given similar responsibilities and tasks to perform as if they were a new entry level Staff Accountant.

Education: Candidate must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting. Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.

Experience: Prior Internship or after school/weekend work experience required.

Criteria: Must be able to complete a minimum of 10 weeks or a maximum 12-week commitment. Must be able to complete 40 hours per week.

Knowledge and Abilities: Must be willing to learn the business, Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously. Excellent problem solving and communication skills. Must have a high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm and confidentiality. Excellent computer skills with a strong proficiency in Excel. Excellent verbal and written skills. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

A post offer drug screen will be required. A post offer background check may be required.
