Information Technology Internship

An internship with Heritage Environmental Services will offer invaluable hands-on experience for your future career, as the selected individuals will be assisting business professionals in the daily management of the various departments.

Primary Purpose

To create, extend and support information technology tools and processes that extend and support the business.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Support and extend existing and new applications by interacting with application users to develop specifications and execute programming tasks to make code changes.
  • Develop process documentation and assist with training during application and business process changes.
  • Provide 2nd level end user technical support for key business applications.
  • Assist in overcoming design, development, and/or implementation challenges using new software tools and techniques.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education: Candidate must be a full-time enrolled Junior/Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in STEM area, computer science, computer technology or information systems Overall GPA>2.7, with GPA in major >3.0

Criteria: Must be able to complete a minimum of 10 weeks or a maximum 12 week commitment. Must be able to complete 40 hours per week.

Knowledge and Abilities: Strong analytical and problem solving abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Knowledge and demonstrated use of software development processes, relational databases, and a programming language. Basic understanding of networks, Windows/Linux operating systems, PC's, and servers. Anxious to learn new things and contribute quickly. Timely, positive and professional work habits requited. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

A post offer drug screen will be required.
