Class A Driver performs duties associated with drum movement and transportation of hazardous/non-hazardous waste between customer sites and Heritage facilites and/or designated disposal sites. 
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
             
             
Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
Picks up waste at locations using dry van trailer, tanker, roll-off and/or box truck.
Prior to driving transportation equipment/ prepares for daily trip by inspecting vehicle and equipment, fueling truck, and ensuring all equipment is in excellent operating order.
Adheres to weights and ensures proper utilization of the units.
Properly secures the loads
Guarantees placarding of vehicle to meet Company and DOT requirements and regulations.
Maintains daily logs, time sheets, expense reports, dispatch and trip reports as well as vehicle inspection reports.
Drives to the customer site to collect waste material and/or transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste material to facility for unloading and disposal.
Acts as Company representative with courtesy towards customer.
Other duties as assigned.

Education:      High school diploma or equivalent required.  
Experience:   Three years of Class A CDL driving experience. Previous experience in the hazardous waste industry preferred. TWIC card preferred.
Knowledge and Abilities:   Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirator.  Good interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts.  Ability to understand RCRA compliance standards and OSHA safety regulations and DOT Regulations.  Class A CDL w/ hazmat endorsement.  Ability to obtain tanker endorsements as required.  Must meet Heritage driving qualifications.  Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job. 

A post offer drug screen will be required.  A post offer background check may be required.
